Find Your Better You: Join Our Private Alcohol-Free Community

Are you ready to break free from that exhausting and seemingly endless cycle of Day 1’s?

As a 501c3 non-profit organization, Café RE’s mission is to support individuals in their journey to sobriety and personal growth and have fun (yes, fun!) doing it.

In Café RE, you’ll find a group of sober warriors who are not just getting by but thriving in a life without alcohol. The common denominator? We embraced the belief that the opposite of addiction is connection.

Every single member of Café RE has been where you are right now.

But we leaned into this community, picked up so many tools & resources from our fellow members along the way, and slowly but surely learned just how beautiful a life of sobriety can be.

We hope you’ll join us—it’s pretty awesome over here!

If any of this sounds familiar to you—you’re in the right place, my friend:

  • You have Googled things like “how to quit drinking” or “how to know if you are an alcoholic.”
  • You’ve started listening to sobriety podcasts or maybe even ordered a quit lit book to see if you can kick this habit on your own.
  • Too often, you wake up swimming in a pool of regret, wondering what you did or who you called the night before. You tell yourself that TODAY IS THE DAY you’re not drinking, but by 4 or 5 p.m., you find a drink in your hand again.
  • Your drinking is starting to affect your mental health, physical health and it is certainly not helping your relationships or trajectory at work.
  • You’ve tried many moderation techniques, like only drinking on weekends, swapping to beer instead of hard liquor, or limiting yourself to a certain number of drinks per week. None of them have worked, and you end up feeling more disappointed in yourself when you fall back into the same cycle.
  • You feel like you are the only person with this problem and don’t understand why you can’t just handle your booze like everyone else (spoiler alert: you are NOT alone in this struggle; it is so much more common than society would like us to believe).
  • You’re terrified to tell anyone about it because you fear what people will think of you, and what it will look like to actually do something about it, but you know you can’t continue down the path you’re on right now.

…and the biggest one: you’re sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

Whether you’re looking to quit for a month, a year, or are simply sober curious, Café RE offers the support and connection you need to succeed on your sobriety journey.

At Café RE, we have seen firsthand how the transformative power of community, connection, and accountability can help you achieve the alcohol-free life you’ve been dreaming of.

Addiction, by nature, isolates us. Embracing community and having a safe place to share your struggles (and your wins—there will be lots of them, we promise!) is one of the best antidotes you can find.

Real Stories, Real Support

Hear from our members about their journey with Café RE.

“Joining Café RE was one of the best decisions I have made for myself in recovery. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals who are all working to improve their lives is not only inspiring but also essential to understanding that we deserve a shot at recovering. Café RE is family to me. I’m grateful for it every day.” – Odette, 30, San Diego, CA

“Cafe RE was a game changer for me. When I first decided to stop drinking, I was way too intimidated to attend meetings in my area; Also, as a busy parent and professional, it was difficult to find the time. Cafe RE is an instant community of like-minded individuals that truly care about each other.  I especially love the flexibility— between webinars, posts, and in-person meetups, I can be as involved as I need to be any hour of the day or night. I have been a part of other online groups, and this one is by far the most active and supportive.” – Tiffany, 34, Westminster MD

“Cafe RE has been hands down the best decision I have made for my Recovery journey. I look forward every day to checking in with the community for support, laughter, reflection, honesty, and real friendship. I truly consider it to be part of my self-care routine. I highly recommend Cafe RE for absolutely anyone (of any age) who wants a safe, no-pressure, nurturing environment on their journey and lots of opportunity for real connection. The in-person meetups and friendships that have developed from this platform have been icing on the cake for me.” – Lena, 47, Boulder, CO

“Initially, I was hesitant to talk openly about my struggles with alcohol, but that fear was unfounded with Cafe’ RE! Cafe’ RE is a safe place for me to talk with other group members who are trying to stay sober like me. All the members are fun and supportive! It is my favorite, online resource and I check it more than a few times a day.” – Rachel, 41, Minneapolis, MN

“I’m so happy to be a part of Cafe RE! I’m also active in my local AA community, and at church, but no matter where I am or what time it is, Cafe RE is always with me. That round-the-clock support from real people that know you and care about you is, in many ways, the cure for the isolation of addiction.”- Andrew, 32, Seattle, WA

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m worried about privacy. Are the chats and community private?

Café RE is now located off of Facebook and Social Media so that is a great start👍.  We use a platform called Mighty Networks and they are known for their privacy and security.

Only Café RE members have access to the Zoom information and community; however we cannot guarantee your complete privacy or anonymity because we are dealing with humans. We do ask/require that you use your real name or a version of it. There is nothing to be ashamed of and we are trying to shred the shame around the stigma.

Does the Café RE community have an App?

You betcha, go to the Apple Store or Google Play store and search for Café RE.

How do I access the community on a desktop?
Go to the URL https://cafe-re.mn.co/ and then enter your login credentials 👍
I can't afford the membership right now. Do you have scholarships?

There are options.  Email info@cafe-re.org and we can figure something out. We usually do this on a three month basis.

What is the current fee for Café RE?

Currently, access to this community is $24 per month. If you decide this isn’t for you, not a problem, you’ll find the option to unsubscribe from automatic renewals under Your Purchases. For any subscriptions you purchased on the web, you’ll see a “Cancel Subscription” button.

We do have a reduced scholarship rate and you can inquire by sending an email to info@cafe-re.org

Where does my membership fee go?

Ten percent of monthly membership fees (after expenses are covered) go towards our yearly service project. Another portion goes to the independently organized Café RE meet-ups, where food and activities are covered. Member fees also ensure the lights are turned on, covering costs such as insurance, payroll, contractors, accounting, hosting fees, etc. We are new to the non-profit world and are still honing in our focus on what we want to start fundraising for, but we would like to explore in-person coffee shops. You can learn more about our charitable efforts here.

Are monthly membership fees tax deductible?

At first, we heard YES! Then No. Then YES again. But the correct answer is NO, membership fees are NOT tax-deductible and the reason is that members are receiving a “service” (access to the community, courses, paired with an accountability partner etc.) for their monthly fee.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

We do not offer refunds but you can cancel at any time. To cancel, in the Café RE Community, go to your Personal Settings and then to Your Plans and Purchases. See our terms and conditions for more info on this policy.

Is this a 12-step program?

No, it is not. We embrace individuals from all recovery paths, practices, religions, backgrounds, and walks of life!

Can you tell me more about the virtual chats?

We have multiple chats per day, approx 25 per week. Community Chats, Mens Meetings, Womens Meetings, LGBTQ+, AA, Recovery Dharma, Yoga, Family & Relationships, Book Studies, and many other topics. These are community-led chats – We are not Mental health professionals, this is peer support.

Do I have to speak or show my face in chats?

Never! Sharing is always optional, and showing your face is not required, but we do encourage it! You can also engage with the community, which is incredibly valuable!

Are courses included with Café RE membership?

Yes! Well, some of them. We host two 5-week Ditching the Booze courses on everything from the “What, Why & How” of quitting drinking to mindfulness, and journaling which are free for Café RE members. We have some courses available at an additional cost as well.
